Saturday we hit the streets-again-warming Atlanta up! We had around 20 volunteers show up. We walked around downtown Atlanta, giving gloves, hats, scarves and socks away. The weather was perfect- we got to meet many new friends! Everyone who participated and everyone we met were very blessed. Keep up for more information on how to volunteer with Freestyle!

Here is a email I received from pastor Luc in Port-Au-Prince Haiti after the earthquake (Jan 14):

Dear Pastor ScottFree

Thank you for your email and appreciate it.Myself and family are ok , but my church at Port-au-Prince and my training facility are collapsed, we have people get killed a lot people get hurt , a lot of them lost home ect. we are praying and believe God for help, the needs are great, the need food etc. please pray for us and we will appreciate your help. I am happy to know that you are praying for us we really appreciate that. The biggest need that we have now is a place to worship the Lord, to take this opportunity to get a lot more people save and have a place for them.

God bless you
Pastor Luc St Felix

My Reply (Jan 14th):

Pastor Luc,

We would like to come help with whatever you need! Please let me know how we can do that and what you would need us to bring!

Thanks Pastor we thank the Lord you and your family are ok! You can always fix and rebuild a church.

Love you Pastor!
Pastor ScottFree

His reply Back (Jan 17th):

Dear Pastor Scott and church

Thank you so much for your email and appreciate it. We are very happy to know that, you are praying for us, we really appreciate that, your help will be a great blessing ,it will be greatly appreciated.
In the difficult time that we have right now, since after the earthquake , we already wined 179 people to Christ plus a witchdoctor , through this tragedy people get saved more than ever before.
I need you to send a team down to help me , It will be great blessing, but first , I am praying the Lord for the money to buy a piece of ground to built the church and the training center and than you could come down to help me. We are praying and believe God to meet all the needs because with God nothing is impossible .

May God bless you
Pastor Luc St Felix

So now you can see the need and how God is working in and through His church in Haiti. Will you partner with us to help Pastor Luc rebuild his church and pastoral training center? Pastor Luc has birthed 43 churches in Haiti, most of them residing in the mountain villages. He trains and sends pastors to plant churches all over the country. If we can help pastor Luc we can actually help all those churches who will in turn help thousands of people themselves!

New Year!

Wow- we have been busy here! We apologize about the delayed blog. We pray everyone has had a great new year so far!!

2009 was a great year. We have a full breakdown of everything the Lord accomplished through Freestyle last year. Click here to view it for yourself!

So far we have planned out a calendar of events for the upcoming year, and we have a lot for you to become involved with- from inner city outreach to foreign out- so keep checking back for new news!

As for our sad news, we are sure you have all heard about Haiti. Since Freestyle has a personal connection in Haiti, this has deeply affected us. The good news, though, is that our friend Pastor Luc and his family are OK! However, his church, which included a medical clinic, has collapsed. Scott had made plans prior to the quake to visit, and now he will continue with his plans to visit with Pastor Luc and see how we can help. We hope to help rebuild the church that fell, as well as help other ministries. You can become involved with this! Make sure you are on our email list so you can stay connected!

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to do what Jesus has called us to do- preach the Gospel and make disciples. Thank you for all of your support! We could not do this without you!!

Warm Atlanta

Last Saturday Freestyle hosted Warm Atlanta. We had about 40 people join us to-literally- warm homeless men, women and children on the streets of Atlanta!

We all met Saturday morning, separating several items of warm clothing into bags. After driving downtown, we walked around downtown Atlanta area, stopping at Woodruff and Hurt Park. We gave out around 500 items including, coats, hats, gloves, scarves and more. Several people were able to pray with those we met. Scott gave a "mini sermon" right in the streets to all the people who were gathering, and most of those received prayer!

We had a great time! Not only did we help the people on the streets, but our volunteers were touched as well. We had a 10 year old boy volunteering with us, who was more outgoing and generous than all of us combined! What a lesson to learn from him!!

Keep checking back for up-coming events for you to join in on!

Freestyle Fall Festival

Last Friday night, Freestyle had a fall festival for the families in an impoverished neighborhood in downtown Atlanta. We had carnival games, hot dogs and hamburgers, apples, live performances, pumpkins, Cartoon Network prizes and more. The whole evening it tried to rain, and it even drizzled some, but the Lord held it off so that we could bless the children with an evening of fall-style fun and the Gospel of Jesus.

There were hundreds of people that showed up. Kids were running eveywhere playing games, getting their faces painted, eating food and dancing along with the music. Towards the end of the night, Scott was able to share the Gospel with the familes that were there. Many people raised their hands to receive prayer, and a lot of people made the decision to change their lives and except Christ.

Thanks to everyone who helped us out for this big event. Keep checking our site for new events like this. Also, check out the media page for photos from the fall festival.

Santa Cruz Bolivia

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Santa Cruz Bolivia!

We worked with Larry and Patty Morehead with YWAM Operation Restoration. They rescue kids living on the streets of Santa Cruz and give them a home. We were busy doing all types of work everyday that we were there!

We had a chance to preach for 2 youth services and 1 Sunday morning service. The people were hungry to hear the Word of God and encounter Christ, and they did just that! Many flooded the alters during the prayer time at the end of the service, after Scott gave the call. "It was an annointed night" says David. "I Wish we could have kept praying all night"...

One day we hit the streets. We went into the cities' sewer systems to meet the kids ages 7-17 who live down in the sewers. What we encountered was truley shocking, even to Scott. We saw children with these plastic bottles gripped in their hands stuck to there noses. They were almost all sniffing glue to get high. Most of them had bad cuts, skin problems and open wounds. The sight would have made anybody take a step back.

We started to hang out and get to know the kids, and thats when we met Daniel. He was a 10 year old boy. He was very high as we were talking with him. We asked him after a while if he was ready for a new life. He said "yes", and then he wandered away back under the bridge where they sleep. Scott followed him ans saw that he was back there asking his friend if he wanted to go with him. His friend looked up at Scott and Scott asked him if he was hungry. He said yes and so they both came out from under the street. Daniel's friends' name was Johnothan and he was 14 years old.

At that time we took both Daniel and Johnothan to go eat. We started talking with them both seperatly about going to the home. The bad news was we could only take 1. Larry said it never works out if they both go at once. So how can we make that choice? As we were talking with Daniel he was expressing he would go only if his friend would go. Johnothan was saying that he would go no matter who went, he said he would go alone! He just needed to start a new life!

So you can probably guess what happened... We took Johnothan! Gave him a new start! A new life! We took him to his new home where he took a shower, got new clothes, and got all cleaned up on the outside. Then the best thing happened! We started to minister to him. We starting to share the Gospel of Christ. He was opened to receiving whatever the Lord had for him. We asked him if he wanted to repent from all the things he had done. He said Yes! He immediatly started praying. This prayer was so annointed that it is hard to describe. He was praying for forgiveness from sin, drugs, stealing. Basically the street life. After he prayed, we then prayed for him and over him!

At that time, we had started a bonfire in the backyard. We said if he was done with his old life, he should take his old clothes and everything that represents his "old man" and throw it in the fire! He did! This verse became real to him , 2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

That is just a small part of the many stories that happened in Santa Cruz. We hope to talk with you in more detail about the trip!

Weekend of Champions Prison Outreach

ScottFree visited 3 different prisons and jails last weekend. Scott preached in different pods where the inmates are housed. The messages were powerful and gripped the inmate’s hearts. Hundreds if not thousands gave there life to the Lord and thier names were given to the prison chaplains for follow up.

One young man Scott was praying with after the message was only 17 years old. He was charged as an adult for a double murder. He said he really needed to talk with Scott. The Lord was dealing with his heart as Scott went over to speak with him. He mentioned wanting God to change his life. Scott prayed with him and the young man asked Jesus to come in his heart and cleanse him from ALL unrighteousness! Scott wrote down his mailing address and said he would start to write him. They didn’t talk much about his past, but they did talk about his future in Christ! Now that young man is a new creation. He might not ever get out of jail or prison, but he HAS been set FREE!

There are many more stories just like this one from visiting the jails and prisons this last weekend. We saw many grown men in tears and seen God working right before our eyes!

Maximum Impact

September 19th The Heart of HipHop linked up with like 15 other ministries and had the opportunity to preform and preach for 1300 people or more.

Maximum impact is changing the look of a part of Atlanta that is known as the Red Light District. We minister to prostitutes, drug dealers, addicts and transitional families living in the motels on the strip. We met practical needs such as food, clothes, medical and were able to plug people into rehabs or shelters if needed!

God used us to do a mighty work in peoples lives that day! Many people came up to receive prayer from our team! Praise God.

Last night, we had our monthly Safehouse Outreach. What a service! The worship was annointed, and Scott spoke a powerful message about living a Holy life. Many people were set free from addidctions and healed from physical afflictions.

It is amazing to be able to watch a person decide to turn their life around. Join us on the second Sunday of every month to experience this for yourself!!

Back 2 School Bash

Saturday we did a Back 2 School Bash on Franklin Road. We had live music, bounce houses, free
food and clothes, face painting, balloons, and even free haircuts!

Over 1000 people attended, and despite the heat the day was a blast. We had a pastor preach the gospel, and many children and parents alike received Christ that day. Praise God!

The kids experienced a "Power House" children's church service, and afterwards 200 backpacks filled with school supplies were given away, along with 150 vouchers for those kids who did not recieve a backpack to get one on August 16th.

F.I.T.

Last weekend, we had our first Freestyle Impact Team! They were a small group from Cedartown, Georgia, and they stayed with us for two days. These two days were full of ministry! Friday afternoon was spent in the streets of downtown Atlanta ministering to the homeless, and that evening the team did a service for Safe House. Later, we did ministry out on Fulton-Industrial Blvd. The next day began with Adopt-A-Block, then work at a homless shelter, and another Safe House service. Of course, every great Atlanta trip ends with The Varsity!

Many people recieved a blessing as this team gave up their personal time to serve those who need Jesus. However, this team received a blessing as well. Their hearts and lives were changed as they saw a different side of life. They have determined to not stop here; they are taking this message and attitude back to their hometown- to the schools, church, neighbors, and everywhere else!

If you are interested in F.I.T., please contact us!

Fulton-Industrial Blvd.

If you do not already know, the Fulton-Industrial area is known as the "red-light district" of Atlanta. Here you will find plenty of adult clubs, liquer stores, and prostitutes.

Friday night we took a team out to speak life and love to the broken hearted girls on the streets. Previosouly, the team had written "love letters" from God, telling each girl what a princess she was and that God truly loves her. That night, as we came across the prostitues, our group of girls in the team would tell them that they are loved and give them a letter. We offered a short prayer to each one. Some received it with a passing wave and a thank you, but there were others who felt the Holy Spirit, and could not deny it. One of these girls was named Sheila. We met her towards the end of the night. After giving her the letter, we asked her why she was out here, and if she truly wanted the life she was living. At this moment she began to cry, and told us no she did not and she wants out. After encouraging her, praying with her, and leading her to the Lord, we told her we were going to find a place for her to go. We are in the process of finding a women's rehab for Sheila.

This night was definitley amazing!!!

Friday we took a team to Woodruff park, loaded with socks, wet wipes, and lotion. People were amazed as we asked if we could take their shoes off, clean their feet, massage lotion into them and replace old socks with fresh clean ones. Some were so excited, and others were brought to tears. The impact was amazing as we got to be Jesus to people who desperatley needed Him.

East Cobb Park Outreach

Saturday we had Freestyle Family Festival in East Cobb Park. What a blast! We had games and balloons for the children, free hot dogs and hamburgers, live music, and Jesus!

Throughout the evening many famlies and individuals who were just spending the day in the park decided to check out the music. For all of the families there, it was a great day to spend time in fellowship and to worship the Lord just by being with brothers and sisters and celebrating Him.

We hope to have another Fesitval soon! Keep in touch for more information!

Urban Renewal Project

Saturday night (what a busy weekend we had!), the Heart of HipHop had an event called the Urban Renewal Project. There were perrformers, a DJ, a message, and cold drinks! There was a mission team from Michigan in attendance, and the night was a blast!

Halfway through the night, the rain started to pour down. We decided not to let that stop us! Trash bags were used to cover speakers up, chairs were taken inside, and the music and message continued! There were a couple of people who decided to re-commit to their walk with Christ. We had a few people join us just from walking by and deciding to see what was going on. It was great to be able to share the Gospel in a way that was fun- no matter what the weather was like!

Keep checking www.TheHeartOfHipHop.com for more information about when the next Urban Renewal Project will be. See you there!

Youth Detention Center

Last Friday, a team went with Scott to the District Youth Detention Center in Rome, GA. The response from the kids was amazing! So many of these young men have had a rough past, and to be able to share a life-changing message with them is such an honor. There was music varying from rock to hip hop. The boys were having a blast!

The Message of Christ was shared as well. A new hope was given to these young men, and about 25 of them (which was a huge majority) received the new life Jesus has for them. Praise God!

Please keep these young men in your prayers, as well as the team as they continue to go out to different areas of the nation and the world to share the Gospel.

Powerful homeless Outreach Service

Last night was a powerful spirit filled service in downtown Atlanta! About 200 men, women and children attended. We started with anointed worship, then Scott shared a Word on the cost of being a disciple. The Alter was full of people who wanted to forsake all to become a disciple of Jesus. Many were coming forward for healing and deliverance from addictions of many kinds. Over 20 gave there life to Christ that night!

Some of the team were praying for a man in a wheelchair. Suddenly the man said he was feeling them pull his legs up. They were not touching his legs they only had there hands placed on his shoulder area. They told him they were not doing that! He became scared at what was happening... They told him the HolySpirit was touching him! At that time his legs shot straight out in front of him. He said he has been bound in the chair for over 20 years! He said he could feel something shooting through his legs! We asked him if he wanted to step out of the chair, he was quite shaken up from the experience... So he chose not to at that time. But we know that the Lord has touched him for the purpose to draw him closer to His son Jesus!

We are excited to be in ministry at a time like this! Many are coming to know Him! The Lord is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28) and we are living in those times now! Praise God!

Saturday/ May 2/Maximum Impact Revival

We went to this outreach to serve and play some music with The Heart of Hip Hop crew.

It wasn’t long before the rain started to fall and all the sound system had to be brought back into the trucks. Everyone who was attending the events made their way under the tents. I just so happened to go under the prayer tent.

It wasn’t long before a volunteer saw me and asked if I would pray for 2 young ladies. She whispered in my ear “I don’t think they are saved”. I began talking with them and I asked them where they were from and what had brought them out. They said they were from Decatur and they came out for this event. I could tell they weren’t being honest so I asked them again. I told them that I was going to be real with them and love them no matter what. Then one girl started to tear up and she looked at her friend. They said they had been evicted from their apartment the day before. That life was getting really hard for them. One girl was a mother of 2 and the other had 3 children. They couldn’t afford to feed them or buy them diapers. They kept talking to me and told me that they both came down to Fulton Industrial to prostitute themselves to get money for rent and food for their kids. By now, they both were in tears.

I began to minister to them. I said that the Lord didn’t want that to happen! We began to share the Love of Christ to them for over 30 minutes. They were shedding tears and listening to the Good News. I said the Lord promised a life, and a life more abundantly, and asked them if they thought that life included selling their body? They said no. I told them what might of happened to them if a pimp had gotten a hold of them. They could have been beaten, drugged, or raped. Maybe they would have never seen their kids again! These girls were good looking and young. We kept sharing with them both about a supernatural life in Christ’s Kingdom! I asked if they wanted that Life? They both cried out “YEA! WE DO!”

So at that time we started to pray! Both of those young women, for the first time, surrendered all to JESUS! They came there with the intention to sell their bodies, and instead they gave their whole self to a KING! JESUS! They thanked us so much with tearful eyes. They said that they didn’t know what they had been thinking.

Before I left them, I was curious to know their ages so I asked. Could you believe that one was 20 and the other 16? Wow! Only 16 years old! We led them to another tent that had a ministry that could help them with the next step! A couple of the ladies have their information and are following up with them also! What a blessing!!

God is so amazing! Even in the pouring down rain, when it looks like the event will not go on as planned. The Lords Will still get’s done. It’s never about an event or a program, but always about HIM!!! Christ is King!
